This lesson combines the science standards for force and motion with an engineering activity. Students will design a car from cardboard straws. Coffee stirs tape, balloon, and bottle lids. ( students can choose which types of wheels). Students will race the cars with classmates to determine which is the fastest.

Can edit the bank to fit your class needs.

Students will put up to 15 words randomly in the 5x5 grid.

Challenge: Make a sentence using each word in row 1. Challenge students to make sentences for each row and column in the 5x5 grid.

Can be done collaboratively, or individual. Nice to mix it up!

To add technology, have students find a resource or picture or article that supports their sentences.

In this project, students will learn about the planning process to creating an algorithm using paper coding blocks as manipulatives and visual aids. They will Be given a set of requirements that their robot must follow and then discuss the process with their groups and create their algorithm using Code Snaps. When they have created their paper program, they will test it and review it for possible issues and improvements.
