Description
- Overview:
- In this part of the unit, students are exploring how global temperatures have changed over the past hundred years. Students will examine tables and graphs about global temperatures and carbon dioxide levels, human consumption of food, and human consumption of natural resources. They will find patterns in the graphs. Based on this data, students will construct an argument about how human activities (increase in population and consumption of natural resources) cause global temperatures to increase.

This is a complete unit. I like how it ties together many skills and parts of Science, ELA, Math, and Social Studies curriculum. Fully aligned to Next Generation Science Standards.
1. Partial alignment (to NCES) by covering only the environmental implications of using energy resources part of standard and should be considered as part of a unit that would address the standard.
2. Has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource.
3. Has clear and sufficient assessment strategies that will accurately measure student progress and mastery of the specified standards.
4. This a very complete resource on global warming and climate change. I liked the different modes of teaching, learning, and assessments, included in the unit that should result in engagement with the material and valid assessment results.
5. This resource may want to rename the title since the learning goals all center around global warming and climate change.
