This resource is the Apollo section of the NASA website. The entire website has a wealth of information about space exploration and what we have gained from it. I am reviewing only the Apollo section.

Alignment to NCES.6.E.1.3: Partial alignment by covering only part of the standard and should be considered as part of a unit that would address the standard. It appears that most of the materials in this part of the website focus on the history of the Apollo program without much mention of understandings we gained from it.

Learning objectives: No learning objectives have been indicated in the resource.

Assessment: No assessment strategies have been indicated in the resource, so users should plan to add some type of assessment.

Strengths: The content is accurate and vocabulary and content are appropriate for the target audience. Technology features such as historic images and video enhance content and instruction.

Opportunities for growth: This is a great resource, but teachers will need to plan activities for students to use it in a way that engages them in critical thinking and collaboration. Teachers will also need to develop an instructional record or student product to help gauge the effectiveness of the resource. The layout of the site is a bit overwhelming: it is hard to know where to click.
