August 3rd Post

Hi everyone! August is here which also means the switch to a new school year is upon us. I would like for us to chat about the reopening plans your schools have around Kindergarten kiddos. What does it look like? How are you going to support our youngest learners in the current climate? Also, have you come across any cool resources? I can't wait to see your responses!!

I teach in CMS where our school board just decided to switch to Plan C (full remote). With cases still at a fairly high rate I feel that was the best decision to make. With that said, as a K teacher I know how major the beginning of school can be! As it stands now we will not be able to have staggered entry so students will be assigned to teachers.

As far as a resource that would be helpful: I found this link to abcya.com on the GoOpenNC platform. This particular game is on counting and I think students will surely enjoy this fun way to practice since so much of Math instruction is centered around rote counting.
