I am a 4th grade math, science and social studies teacher. I really like that this resource has the extension of adding large numbers and then redistributing items into boxes by a certain amount. This is a great way to see if students are transferring their knowledge.

* Alignment to NC Math Standards: Full alignment to depth and breadth of standard NC.4.NBT.1 and NC.4.NBT.2 and partial alignment of standards NC4.NBT.4 via Day 2 of the lesson.

* Evidence of Learning Objectives: Has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource.

* Evidence of Assessment Strategies: Has clear and sufficient assessment strategies that will accurately measure student progress and mastery of the specified standard. (The question prompts embedded throughout the lesson and the exit ticket are excellent ways to check student's level of understanding of the learning objectives.)

* Strengths: (1) This resource has exemplary Focus on the identified standards addressed, providing student with multiple opportunities to work within the standard.

*Opportunities: (1) To make this resource more accessible to all learners offering opportunities where juice pouches are only sold in boxes and crates on day 1 and then boxes, crates, and cases on day 2 (along with visuals for each) would scaffold this lesson for any potential needs that may arise.
