1) Engaging with Resources - The WHAT:

#GoOpenNC has three main opportunities to interact with the resources on the platform.

Find/Use Existing Resources

A select group of teachers will explore, rate, and contribute to the OER repository.Expand the number of teachers/staff engaging with the OER platform.

Collect/Curate Resources and Collections

Start with a specific unit or even standard to focus on (e.g. Instructional Facilitators could find intervention resources and create collections)Make a decision about whether to move forward with GoOpenNC for housing everything (and potentially create an ACS Hub), or find a way to incorporating into Canvas or Google Classroom and Team Drive.

Create/Upload Resources

Select group of teachers, DLTs, IFs and other identified educators to be early adopters.Strategically expand the group that is creating and uploading content.




2) Engaging with Platform - The HOW:

#GoOpenNC has three main ways to participate on the platform

Share/Evaluate Resources

Focus on being consumers and evaluators or content.





Being to also be authors, contributors, remixers.

Participate in Professional Learning locally or statewide

PD on copyright and licensing, what is a high quality resource,  the CARE Framework (Contribute, Attribute, Release,  Empower),  and how well-aligned a resource is to a given standard.






Network and Collaborate with Other NC Educators

Participating teachers will join/create groups and hubs.  












3) Engaging the Educators - The WHO:

#GoOpenNC has opportunities for all educators to being engaging. Consider who would be your main early engagers in the next 6 months.

NCDPI and ISKME can provide support for the ways you are planning to Build the #GoOpenNC Community within your area.
