I taught fourth grade for many years. This is a great resource to have when teaching area and perimeter.

*Alignment to NC Standards: Full alignment to depth and breadth of standard(s) tagged

*Evidence of Learning Objectives: Has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource

*Evidence of Assessment Strategies:
Has clear assessment strategies that will accurately measure student progress of the specified standards, but needs additional summative strategies

*Strengths and Opportunities per the High Quality PBL criteria: This resource aligns with the listed standards and gives students a real-life scenario in which to practice the skills of the standard. This resource has some aspects of a high-quality PBL such as intellectual challenge and collaboration (partial). Some opportunities for growth include adding a public project, consulting landscape designers and adding a reflection piece to the resource.

*I am a math teachers and like this idea of creating a back yard. I am trying to figure out how to take this idea and create a PBL for math 1.

*Has clear and sufficient assessment strategies that will accurately measure student progress and mastery of the specified standards.
*The students should be given the chance to showcase their work to other community members maybe those who design backyards.
* There are strong levels and students choice and decision making.
*There could be more community involvement.
