Task: In the school cafeteria, there are 12 tables. Each table can hold 16 students.
Part 1: How many students can the cafeteria hold at one time if all of the seats are filled? Use the area model to show your answer.
Part 2: Using your answer from part 1, decide how many total students could eat in the cafeteria at any given time if the staff added two additional tables of the same size.
Part 3: Create a visual model that shows how you found your answer for part 2.
Part 4: Write a multiplication word problem involving the numbers 23 and 21.
