Analyzing Motion in Physics

PBL - Analyzing Human Motion

Day 1-Students will:

  • Have the option of working with a small group, partner, or individually
  • Choose an object to graph moving from one point to another
  • Describe an object's position relative to reference point
  • Identify appropriate SI units for measuring distance, speed, velocity, position, and displacement
  • Evaluate that all motion is relative to whatever frame of reference is chosen
  • Distinguish between distance and displacement
  • Calculate and chart

Day 2-  Video Making

Students  will make  a 5- min video showing different clips of them doing different kinds of motion. They should be able to show clips of  speeding up, slowing down and change in direction . Quantitative descriptions  and graphical representations are required. They have to present their work to class through google slides, PowerPoint,  YouTube posts, or another digital platform of their choice.
