First, we examine the material through the lens of social class and felt that it presented middle class experiences as the norm, excluding lower and upper class experiences. These included doing chores, having your own room, washing dishes, and making breakfast.Next, we looked at gender and felt that this source did not present positive gender identity towards women as it is focused on a mom and her daughter completing household chores (tidying up, doing the dishes, cooking breakfast).Finally, we looked at ability and felt that this material presents an able-bodied, neurotypical child as the norm based on the activities chosen for them to complete as chores.
