About this Activity

In this activity, students are given a series of fill-in-the-blank questions about the different parts of speech. A word bank has been included on each slide that contains all the words that will be used to fill in the blanks. Students have to read each question and then determine which word from the bank completes the statement. The activity is set up in the format of a coin collector game where students are trying to collect as many different coins as possible. For each correct answer, students are awarded one coin. Directions have been provided on the results slide to help students screen capture their results and submit them to their teacher.

Accessibility

All the items on each slide have been added as text elements as opposed to images with embedded text. So, screen reading technology should be able to pick up the information on each slide. The only issue in terms of accessibility for someone with a visual impairment might be locating the textbox on each slide in order to type in the answers. If you have a student with a visual impairment, you might consider partnering them with another student or adult in case the textboxes for answer entry pose a problem.
