Piecewise Functions
I can use my knowledge of various graphs to work with Piece-wise functions. (NC.M1.A-SSE.1a/1b, NC.M1.A-CED.2, NC.M1.A-REI.11, NC.M1.S-ID.9, NC.M1-F.IF.7)
What is a piecewise function?
We can create functions that behave differently based on the input (x) value and make a graph that works in sections based on the x value.
How do we evaluate piecewise functions?
To evaluate a piecewise function, means to find the y-value for the given x-value.
This can be done in 2 ways:
1. plug x into equation and solve it.
2. use the graph to find the x and corresponding y-value
