Project Outline
AskHow can I learn the Engineering Design Process?
ImagineImagine you are trapped in the classroom with a MAD SCIENTIST! He is not going to let you leave, until you learn the five steps of the Engineering Design Process through a Digital Escape Room. You have FOUR puzzles to complete, unlocking a lock when you complete each puzzle. The first two teams to successfully submit the Google Form WIN!
PlanIn your team, come up with a plan on how you will work together. Who will use their device to type in codes, etc...
CreateUse Edpuzzle video, Jigsaw puzzle, directional lock, and simple caesar cipher to figure out the codes at each lock to breakout.
ImproveWere you able to break out of the escape room? If not, what could your team have done differently? If you were able to break out, how could your team have improved your time?
Closure / Student ReflectionsThe class will have a discussion about what went well with the escape room and what didn't work.
Possible Modifications / ExtensionsStudents will use this escape room as a model to create their own escape room for a specific text, standard, topic, etc.
