What do you like about the microsite?

What aspects / functionality do you think will be beneficial for teachers?

Amy Stanley 5 years, 9 months ago

I showed the site to my colleague who had been looking to create a pinterest board for our district, she was super impressed and asked to become part of our pilot, I am excited to share more about it once it is completely open to all users.

Donna Murray 5 years, 9 months ago

Amy, Email me (donna.murray@dpi.nc.gov) with the teacher's name and email. I will talk with the district lead about having her join the pilot!

I love the concept. We as educators spend a lot of time looking for resources that are worthy. We all need to have access to valuable resources that will benefit our students.

LORIE 5 years, 9 months ago

I like the fact that you can find resources for each topic all in one place.  The website makes it easy to search for different lessons.

CYNTHIA 5 years, 9 months ago

I agree that it is easy to search for lessons on different topics.

JENNIFER 5 years, 9 months ago

I like the idea of housing resources in a central location that teachers can access for free. So many teachers pay for resources on teacher-sharing sites. It will be great to have quality, free resources at their fingertips!

RACHEL 5 years, 9 months ago

I like how easy it is to share a resource to Google Classroom.  Though I did figure out that you had to be in the resource not on the information page for it to work. I tested this out in a unshared classroom group before removing.

Pam Batchelor 5 years, 9 months ago

Thank you for this feedback. We will look into why the button from the information page isn't working.

Marty Sharpe 5 years, 9 months ago

I love having the ability to join groups.  Being able to communicate, collaborate and contribute with other members throughout the state has huge potential.

CYNTHIA 5 years, 9 months ago

I like that schools and districts can create groups for teachers. That will make it easy to share curated resources.

MARCI 5 years, 9 months ago

I appreciate the ease in which you can search for things based upon numerous criteria. I searched for a Kindergarten ELA lesson and was pleased to find one that was professionally written and contained all the resources you could possibly need. I'm excited for this site to be rolled out to everyone.

Doug Chesnutt 5 years, 9 months ago

Marci,  I agree.  I looked for a specific strategy, then lesson plan, for an 8th grade ELA class...more than enough resources came up.  I can't wait to use some of these resources and share with my fellow teachers.

DONNA 5 years, 9 months ago

I like how the breadcrumbs will lead me to the exact North Carolina standard within a course. This allows me to focus on the standard I need and not get lost down a rabbit hole.

FITRAH 5 years, 9 months ago

I like the variety of lessons and that they seem easy to find (so far).

BRITA 5 years, 9 months ago

I like that it autosves when you are working and can go back and find those items as drafts and continue working.

BRITA 5 years, 9 months ago

I like the groups and groups discussion feature!!

DEIDRA 5 years, 9 months ago

I like that we can search topics by standard, grade and subject. I also appreciate the alginment tag button which really narrows down my search. So far I have searched for science content which has been challenging since the last science cirriculum for elementary school is out dated.

SIOBHAN 5 years, 9 months ago

I love the sheer amount of resources available to us educators housed in one place! It makes lesson planning less stressful; especially when it comes to finding resources. I also love how we are able to collaborate with educators all over the state; not just here in out own county.

Heather Fulbright 5 years, 9 months ago

I love that I can search for specific lessons and topics that I need to complete a lesson.  If someone is working on a personalized learning playlist or pathway, the microsite helps curate some lessons, sites, etc, to add for students to complete.  I also like that I can create groups where I can collaborate with colleagues or groups of teachers I am working with.

Natalie Buie 5 years, 9 months ago

There are lots of resources and it is very user friendly!

Natalie Buie 5 years, 9 months ago

I also like how you can share resources or activities to Google Classroom.  I know upper grades teachers will like this feature!

TRACEY 5 years, 9 months ago

I like being able to search the resources for a particular standard.  This will be a huge time saver!

TERRY 5 years, 9 months ago

The amount of information is Fantastic.  The ability to look up by Grade and Standard is a huge help.  It narrows down the amount of information significantly which helps to find exactly what I'm looking for.

SHANNON 5 years, 9 months ago

I like the ease of searching for resources you need. Because many links open in new windows, I didn't have to get lost in clicking the back button repeatedly to return to where I had begun.

Elizabeth 5 years, 9 months ago

I am excited that teachers across North Carolina will be able to collaborate and create resources that we can access for free that actually align with our standards.

MARIANNE TAYLHARDAT 5 years, 9 months ago

This really is great, and it seems more accessivle than a lot of the resources we have used before.

AMANDA 5 years, 9 months ago

I love that it is broken down by specific standards and not just general ones.  This will help teachers to target specifics when one area is showing a low point in growth for their class.

BRITA 5 years, 8 months ago

Wow! The more we use it and I browse through resources, the more I see how this can be a fantastic site for teachers!  Can't wait to be able to share with our Media Coordinators so they add this to their list of curated "go to" resources and talk about creative commons licensing! Way to #GoOpenNC!

EMMA 5 years, 8 months ago

I really value the new sorting features--thanks for responding to the feedback!

I also appreciate the single sign-on; no need to remember one more password!

Gregory Bowman 5 years, 8 months ago

I have enjoyed being able to serch by standard.  I think that will be very useful for our teachers.

LINDY Seymore-Carter 5 years, 8 months ago

I am so excited that we do not have to pay for the resources. We spend a great deal of money on resources and this site is totally free!! I am hopeful it will stay that way. It is very helpful to have everything in one site...it helps when teachers are planning across the curriculum.

Doug Chesnutt 5 years, 8 months ago

I really appreciate being able to search for resources specifically by specific standards.  That speeds things along quite a bit.
