I am trying to decide if this is helpful or too complicated to be a lot of help. I am undecided as of yet.
Hi, y'all:
My name is Beth Bruch and I've been a high school librarian/SLMC for about 5 years. I'm happy to share some of the resources I've developed for my student library/media assistants. I'm also happy to share my love of spreadsheets if that's ever of interest. I'm very interested in moving beyond the library into classrooms and learning how to do a better job of doing outreach to teachers. So this involves a combination of better articulating and communicating what I can provide and also logistics around figuring out how to get library coverage while I go into classrooms. At the beginning of this spring's pandemic-related shutdown, I was so overwhelmed getting Chromebooks and hotspots out to students and then providing tech support that I feel like I missed an opportunity. That said, I don't think it's too late!
If it's of any use, here is a book shelving game I created to help my media assistants understand shelving and to help me understand what might be tripping them up. It's inspired by games like "order in the library" which no longer works on Chromebooks and Mrs. Lodge's library. https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/211549838/
