What is your name, content expertise, current role in education?
If you could collaborate more with a specific set of educators, especially via this platform who would it be?
Hi -- Joanna Schimizzi (ska-meet-zee).
I am a Biology and Dance Education "expert" :) I taught Bio, AP Bio, Extended Bio, etc for years in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and now I teach for the OCS program as part of NC Virtual Public Schools.
I would love to collaborate more with folks interested in social emotional learning and culturally relevant pedagogy. I'd love to start remixing materials to be more culturally relevant and truly address the whole learner.
My Name Is Michelle and I am currently a Media Director/Specialist in Monroe, NC. It is a K-12 school, and I am the only one! I love to collaborate with teachers across the grade levels to support critical thinking, digging deeper and the general love for reading. My background ranges through various curriculum within K-12. I spent most of my time with Social Studies and ELA with a concentration in Special Education and how to best mainstream students through core classes.
If I could work with a specific set of educators via this platform it would be High School teachers across curriculum. I find that they could use the support and collaboration that this platform will facilitate.
My name is Melissa "Missy" Garwood and I am a School Library Media Coordinator at a K-6 school. Sometimes I feel like I'm jack of all trades, but master of none. At my school, I have a completely flex schedule which means, I could be doing a technology lesson (of course integrated), Social Studies lesson, STEM lesson or ELA lesson within one lesson and/or day.
If I could collaborate more with a specific set of educators is would be the innovators -- the trail-blazers in technology. I love to learn new skill sets and then turn around and teach them to my colleagues and students.
Melissa- I can totally relate to the jack of all trades, but master of none!!
I think the best thing about our profession is that you never stop learning!
I would also collaborate with "the trailblazers!" Technology is only evolving more rapidly, and I love to go to library conferences (i.e. ISTE, NCSLMA, ALA, and our local MLA conference) to learn about the way other SLMCs are embedding technology into the library. It's actually quite inspiring! I try to take at least one new idea from each conference and implement it into my curriculum. :)
I am a K-5 media coordinator. This is my 9th year in the library and in my previous life I taught 4th grade for twelve years. I am also a BT mentor at my school along with wearing a billion other hats!
I work a lot with the AIG students in 4th and 5th grades during our enrichment time so I would love to collaborate with some ELA or AIG teachers on ways to deepen their reading/critical thinking skills. I am also looking forward to connecting with fellow media coordinators since there aren't as many resources out there for us.
Hi Stacy-
While I am currently a media coordinator (also in a K-5) school, I was an AIG teacher the past seven years and would be more than happy to share some of what I did with my students.
I would love that!! We are doing a book study on Children of Exile by Margaret Peterson Haddix which they are loving. We've had great discussions! Their final project is going to be a website. I'd welcome any great websites you can share with collaborative problem solving type activities.
My name is Leigh and I am the Media Coordinator at West Rowan High School in Mt. Ulla, NC. I am also the yearbook adviser, PBL instructor and broadcast instructor. Like many others, a jack of all trades! I love my job and the ever changing roles. I would like to be able to collaborate with other high school Media Coordinators, especially any that work with PBL or yearbook. I love getting new ideas!
My name is Margaret. I am a Teacher-Librarian at a K-5 school in Guilford County. I try to be familiar with all the curricula. I think my strength is instructional design.
I would like to collaborate with other librarians who are on a fixed schedule but still trying to integrate skills.
Hi! I'm Tammy Cordeiro and I am the library media specialist at St. Stephens High School in Catawba county. (BTW, we are a PUBLIC high school--people always think we are parochial!) I have worked in the library for 6 years. Prior to that, I taught high school French for 9 years and before that, I taught French and Dance in middle school. This is my 27th year in education.
I am really interested in literacy initiatives in high schools and I would like to work with high school people who have been able to convince teachers to collaborate with the media center! I'm also interested in innovative technology for 1:1 environments and ways to convince reluctant teachers to use technology.
Hello!
My name is Allison Ferrer. I'm currently an elementary media coordinator/school librarian in Stanly County Schools. This is the start of my 5th year in the library. I taught 4th and 2nd grade before I went back to get my MLIS. I absolutely love being an elementary librarian!
I'm excited to be able to collaborate with other school librarians, especially with elementary librarians that have a combination of a fixed and flexed schedule like me. I want to find out all of the different ways everyone meets our standards and collaborates with teachers. I'd also like to share and remix resources so that I'm better meeting student and teacher needs.
My name is Jody TImmins and I'm the School Library Media Coordinator at South Mebane Elementary. My content expertise is research, information literacy, and reading/literacy in K-5.
I am also interested in connecting with educators who are updating their instruction to be more culturally relevant and anti-racist. I hope that these new resources will reexamine the "classic" materials that teachers often use to teach concepts or ideas, and that the reources will be culturally relevant and reflect the diverse populations in our schools.
More broadly, I hope to connect with school librarians throughout the state. My district has a robust PLC for school librarians, but it's still the case that we're the only "one of us" in our buildings. The more communication and conneciton, the better.
I am currently a Library School Media Coordinator at a middle school in Wake County. Prior to becoming a librarian I taught English at the high school and middle school levels. I would love to collaborate more with the non-English teachers at my school. Teachers frequently see the library as the domain of English classes, and I want to show that I can be a resource for all subject areas.
My name is Lisa Shaw and I am the Media Coordinator at a K-5 school in Waxhaw. This is my 14th year in the media center; I also taught 6 years in 3rd nd 4th grades prior to that. I am extremely fortunate to have a fully flexible schedule which allows me time to collaborate with teachers, although that is an area that is constantly "under construction".
I am excited to collaborate with other elementary media coordinators who may have similar schedules to mine.
Hi everyone - I'm Stacy Lovdahl, @braveneutrino, a middle school science teacher, an ITF (the "I" is the key word) and educator on loan to DPI's Digital Teaching and Learning division (talk to me about I-40). I don't know if I claim to be an "expert" in anything, yet, but my current mission is to somehow help teachers with the alchemy of teaching - the art of knowing how to reach young people, the opportuinities presented by new and constantly evolving tools and the science of data and effect sizes.
If I could collaborate with a specific set of educators around PBL and OER, I would connect with the private sector in rural communities and PBL experts in the state like STEM-west.org and NC Science House.
Good morning!
I'm Bitsy Griffin, and I'm the school librarian at Old Town ES in Winston Salem. Before becoming a librarian, I taught math. I'm active in our state and national library associations.
I would love to collaborate with 1) more school librarians, and 2) elementary teachers in bilingual programs. At my school, they seem to have a more difficult time finding resources and have fewer people on grade level with which to work.
I am very excited to work with each of you on this platform!
We have Dual Language Immersion at my school, if you are interested. We are 90% Spanish instruction and Specials are in English. Grades K-2 do this and we will add 3rd grade next year!
I am Gabrielle Lamb, a Media Coordinator at a K-5 elementary school in Pitt County. This is my first year in this media center, but 17th year in education. I taught in Georgia for several years, primarily as a 5th grade ELA teacher, but 3rd and 4th grades too. I was a media coordinator the last year I was there. I moved to NC in 2011 and taught 5th grade ELA for one year, then AIG from 2012-this past spring. My schedule is 90% flex and 10% fixed.
With that said, I would like to collaborate with other elementary school media coordinators to brainstorm the best ways to get teachers on board with collaboration and doing joint projects. I don't think the teachers here are used to the offers, so I haven't had many take me up on it.
Sign me up! I'm in Edgecombe County and would love to collaborte on joint projects...to brainstorm the best way we can meet the needs of our teachers and our elementary school children!
Hello!
Cathy Littleton
I am an information and curriculum expert. I taught Science and a bit of Social Studies at the middle school level for 10 years. Now I am a media specialist/librarian/digital literacy coach/jack of all trades in a K5 school. I would like to collaborate with others on creating a culture of reading, incorporating information literacy (in all forms and fashions) into content areas, and increasing diverse representation in resources and curriculum.
Creating a culture of reading is one of my passions. It kind of waxes and wanes, though as new concepts come in. Last year I was concentrating on creating a culture of reading. This year my focus has been more on Social-Emotional Learning.
I'm working on creating more of a culture of reading too! I follow Cari White (Library Learners) and get her newsletters too. She shares some awesome ideas as well as ideas from people who share on her FB page. One of the ideas I saw came from Jamie Wagnor about reading her height (https://librarylearners.com/read-your-height-2/). I decided to try to do it this year too. I put out a basket where students and teachers could give me suggestions for what to read. Right now my bucket is overflowing. It's been fun having conversations with everyone and the books that they suggested.
My name is Angel Murdock. I am a secondary ELA and SS teachers, but my current role is Library Media Coordinator.
I have been working more directly this year with Social Studies teachers, and I would love to be able to provide them with resources from this platform.
Hello! I'm Laura Aldridge. I'm the school library media coordinator for Durant Road Middle School. I was a public library assistant and high school English teacher before moving into the position of school librarian. I hope to collaborate and learn from educators who do not have access to a device for every student or paid subscriptions. I love technology, but my school is not 1:1, so I hope to get more ideas for collaborative/group learning.
Ellen Bryson, Elementary Librarian in Dare County Schools and Instructor at ECU in Children's Literature. Happy to be serving my 15th year.
If I could collabiorate with a specific set of educators it would be STEM people because I see a lot of overlap between media standards and goals and theirs!
Hello! My name is Stacy Morgan and I am a media coordinator at Oak Grove Middle School in Davidson County. While I am currently a middle school media coordinator, I have also been an elementary school media coordinator and a classroom teacher for 5th, 6th, and 8th grades. I love students at the "in between" age!
If I could collaborate with a specific set of educators, it would be science and social studies teachers. I feel like I do a lot with Language Arts teachers already (and I used to be one!), but there's so much that could be done with these two content areas!
Hello everyone, my name is Mattie Perry Johnson but on the records it is Mattie Perry. I work as a Library Media Specialist at a high school in Durham County. The students call me Mrs. P-J and you are welcome to do the same. I have had the opportunity to work as library media coordinator over 25 years on all levels from elementary to secondary. I enjoy what I do and I love collaborating with teachers on various projects. My background also includes working as a STEM-Coordinator, EC teacher- teaching students with Learning Disability, and I have taught Drama.
I have been collaborating with all of my teachers at the high school. In naming a specific set of educators, this would include working directly with the Social Studies, English, the Arts, ESL, CTE, EC and Health and PE teachers. I will enjoy sharing the resources from this platform.
Hello! I look forward to working with you as this is the set of teachers I hope to connect with.
Thank you!
Hello Michelle,
I'm looking forward to working with you as well.
Mattie
Amy Hahn, BS in Elem. Education and MSL, I am a Media Coordinator in a PreK -8th Grade School (Grifton) in Pitt County Schools. I serve all the classes and spend a lot of time teaching science and SS lessons for all grade levels. I have been at Grifton School since 96.
I would love to collaborate with more Media Coordinators around the state. I would love to hear what is working for them we are so unquie and can learn so much from each other.
My name is Beverly Litke. I am the Media Coordinator at a K-5 school. This is a second career for me. Over the years, I have taught K-2nd, park district classes, pre-school, piano lessons and Sunday school for children to adults. I love my current role now in the library media center. I do a lot with STEAM and Makerspace in addition to information literacy, digital citizenship, coding, technology, and collaborative projects with classroom teachers. We are also in our second year as an A+ Arts Integrated school.
I would love to collaborate with other Media folks to get ideas for creative electives I teach, and integrating core curriculum into media lessons.
My name is Thomas Wall. I am currently a Media Coordinator for the Alamance Burlington School System. This is my 16th year in education. I have content experience in Media and Technology and Elementary Education. I also hold a Middle School Social Studies and Math lincensure.
I would want to reach out to all my groups in the buidling. I feel like I should be the bridge to all departments. I have some that I work really well with, but I think every could benefit from this platform.
Hello!
My name is Amanda McCall and I am in a unique situation right now. I have taught grades 2 and 3 for 15 years. At the beginning of this school year, I moved out of Gen. Ed. and became an AIG specialist for grades K-8. Through some strange turn of events, I have now been hired as a Media Specialist in my original "home" school which is a Primary school serving grades PreK-3rd. I am preparing to move into the role of Media Specialist within the next few weeks when they fill my current position. That being said, I will be going back to school to obtain my Master's in Library Science while I am in that position. I will be working closely with the STEM teacher at our school which I am very excited about.
Due to the above circumstances, I believe that I can be a wonderful asset/resouce as a voice for the general educaation classroom and AIG questions, etc. I am looking forward to learning from this group of media specialists because that's where I feel I need to grow.
Hello everyone!
My name is Jenny Parks and I'm a middle school librarian in Chapel Hill, NC. This is my fourth year being a librarian, and my content expertise includes middle grades/ya literature, ELA, and Social Students.
I am very interested in collaborating with other middle school librarians. Teaching kids and teachers the power of digital resources is difficult, but it has so much potential to help them grow and do their jobs.
I'm Jenn Augustson and am in my second year as the librarian at Cape Hatteras Elementary school. I love collaborating with colleagues and currently have projects going with our AIG/Instructional Coach and several classroom teachers.. I would like to work more closely with our Tech Facilitator planning research projects for our students.
I am Nelda Smith, a middle school library media specialist in Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools. I have been a classroom teacher and a librarian in both elementary and middle school.
I'd love to work more with science teachers.
What is your name, content expertise, current role in education?
Sondra Ayscue, K-6 certification and Technology, Director of Technology and Media
If you could collaborate more with a specific set of educators, especially via this platform who would it be?
I would like to see what educators involved in 1:1 classrooms would share, and while I realize that the group would possibly be large, could see it broken down in to grade levels or even subject areas with specific emphasis on creating and designing engaging learning opportunities for students that have devices all of the time.
I am Sandra Ross. I am the librarian at Township Three Elementary School in Cleveland County.
My name is Kathleen Rutan. I am a media coordinator with Harnett County Schools. Prior to being in the library, I was a teacher in the EC classroom. I am currently taking distance ed masters classes through ECU towards my MLS, as well as classes to add on a certificate for computer education.
Specifically, I would like to collaborate with elementary media coordinators to find out how they incorporate STEM or makerspace activities into their libary lessons.
My name is Karen Puckett. I am the Media Specialist at Isenberg Elementary School in Salisbury, NC. I am also the new Global School Lead Teacher as we have become a global school in recent years.
I love travel and have been to quite a few other countries. I maintain a multicultural library collection.
I agree that the Media Specialist group may be better served broken up by grade levels.
If I could collaborate with a specific set of educators other than Media Specialists, I would collaborate with ESL teachers or schools who have adopted a global focus.
What is your name, content expertise, current role in education?
My name is Amanda Jacobs. I am currently an elementary media coordinator and previously a 5th grade classroom teacher in Onslow County. I am also certified in gifted education.
If you could collaborate more with a specific set of educators, especially via this platform who would it be?
I would like to collaborate with other elementary media coordinators from across the state so that I can bring back ideas/lessons for our county media coordinators. I would also like to collaborate more with elementary teachers to bring back resources that are beneficial to our staff.
Hi everyone! My name is Meredith Mitchell and I am the media specialist at Eaton Elementary school in Wilmington. This is my 2nd year in the library after 17 years in the classroom in grades 2, 3, and 5. I hope to collaborate with other elementary media specialists who have more and different experience than I do.
My name is Jo Higgins and I am the School Library Media Coordinator at Thomasville HIgh School in Thomasville, NC. This is my 11th year as a librarian, and I absolutely love it! Prior to getting my MLIS degree, I taught high school (and 1 year middle school) English, journalism, writing, and speech for 16+ years in Florida and New Hampshire.
If you are referring to educators other than other librarians, I would have to say math and science teachers because collaboration with them does not come as naturally as it does with those from other disciplines like English or social studies, etc.
I am Christine Alston, but I go by "Chris." This is my 3rd year as media coordinator at a PK-5th school in Durham. My master's concentration was digital librarianship, but since I had middle school ELA/SS licenses, I found myself back in the school system after I graduated. Now, I am taking additional courses to add the media coordinator licensure.
I'm most interested in learning how other media coordinators teach about NC government, Hispanic heritage, Native Americans, civil rights, and other social studies related topics. In my school, there are reading teachers, and I am not considered to be the reading expert. I am, however, considered to be the research expert, and so it is important that I create lessons for my 1st-5th grade students in these areas.
This platform should be great for that! Also check out the Library of Congress. Their site is a great place to get Primary Source documents & ideas for how to use them effectively. http://www.loc.gov/teachers/
I am Angela Causby and I am in my first year as a high school media coordinator at Smithfield-Selma High School. Previously I have been in middle school where I was the point person for just about everything it seemed. I am enjoying having a chance to be a librarian (although now we are half way through and people have started to learn what all I can do).
I would love to collaborate with other high school media coordinators and other high school teachers on how we can make the media center the center of the literacy movement. I was recently showing a staff member some of our resources and she was like why were you not involved in the pd that we had a few weeks ago. I am working with admin now to make the media center a resource for the staff as it seems to have been forgotten a bit here.
My name is Jaime Axthelm. I am in my 12th year of teaching in Edgecombe County. I was a middle school math teacher for the first 9 years of my career and I am currently in my 3rd year as a Digital Literacy Coach in one of the ECPS middle schools.
I really just want to collaborate with as many of my teachers as possible. Working with some of the teachers in areas that are not my forte I think would also be something to push me out of my normal way.
Jodi Freeze, Media Coordinator, Middle Creek High School, Apex, NC
I'd like to connect with more media coordinators at the middle/high school level.
Hi, I'm Jen Baker, Library Media Coordinator at Pamlico County High School in Bayboro, NC (eastern NC). I come from a homeschooling / public library background & like making learning fun. I'm also interested in SEL & mindfulness in education.
I'd love to collaborate with other librarians to create citation lessons that aren't boring. Usually students are glad to see me come into their classes, but when they find out it's about research, they groan. I bring in pop culture, etc but it's honestly my least favorite thing to teach.
My name is Lauren Huskey. My original teaching license is Elementary Ed (K-6), and I have a add-on in School Library Media (K-12). I am currently a high school media specialist at my alma mater, but I have previously been an elementary classroom teacher, and a middle school media specialist. I would like to collaborate via this platform with other secondary media specialists. Because there is usually only 1 media specialist per school, it makes collaborating with each other more difficult. I would love to have a space where I can share and get ideas from other school librarians.
My name is Tara Floyd and I am currently a Media Coordinator at a high school. My content of expertise would be instructional technology. I worked as a Family & Consumer Science Teacher for 9 years and I am in my 4th year as a Media Coordinator.
If I could collaborate more with a specific set of educators it would be Career and Technical Education Teachers. Many times when attending Professional Development sessions, things are geared toward the core classes (Science, Math, English, and Social Studies), I would like to work with these educators to find content that they could empliment in their classrooms.
I am a K-5 Media Specialist on a flex schedule. I'm also the 3-5 AIG Teacher. If you have to work two jobs in one school, what better jobs to have, right?!? This is my 15th year in Cleveland County Schools and I'm so glad that NC is finally offering this platform!
I would love to collaborate more with AIG teachers in this platform.
Hi! I am Tara Gold, and I am currently a media coordinator at Millbrook High School in Wake County. My subject area expertise is in ELA and social studies/history/humanities, as I also have teaching experience and license in those areas. I would love to collaborate more with other media coordinators! Our jobs are huge and multi-facted, but we are often lone wolves in our respective schools. It is always good to share with others doing similar things!
Heather Johnson-Mills
Media Coordinator - Eastern Randolph High School
I would collaborate with both media specialists/coordinators and teachers.
Hello
I am an elementary Media Specialist in Pender County. I have had both fixed and flex schedules over the past 8 years and would like to collaborate with teachers and or Media folks on more project based learning. I feel like I fit the facilitator roll better than the teaching roll. My background began in teaching and has included various districts in Montana, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.
Carol McFadden
Hi all! My name is Kristy Sartain. I am in my 7th year as a public school librarian and I am in my first year at Hoke High School. Before I became a librarian, my experience was in the corporate world. I would say my specialty as a school librarian is technology. Not just having the latest and greatest, but using it in a way to really connect students with the outside world and with their own learning. I love the teaching part of being a librarian and have made some pretty awesome lesson plans that can be adapted for any level and I'm proud of those. In my school, I am a deliverer of PD to teachers and am slowly working my way into the teaching part. I seem to specialize in taking over for librarians who have run everyone away and I have to bring them all back, which takes time. I'm also the manager of the library space. The library at our school is used A LOT by the school and by county office, so it's important to let everyone know what's going on all the time.
I am looking forward to collaborating with other high school librarians. I am the only one in my county and with the exception of a few friends on Facebook, don't really have access to other high school librarians. It would be great to swap lessons and ideas and grant opportunities.
I am currently the media specialist at Chase Middle in Rutherford County. I have been a media specialist for 7 years. Prior to that I was a class room teacher primarily in the middle grades, but also taught 5th grade self contained and high school social studies (where I started).
I am certified in all middle grade core subject areas and secondary social studies, and have an instructional technology masters.
I would like to collaborate more with other librarians. As the only person in my role in my school it would be nice to hear what others are doing.
My name is Amy Ralph.
I work as a media coordinator at Southwest Elementary School. This is part of the Lexington City School System. I have been a librarian for the last 6 years and an educator for the last 15 years. I would like to collaborate with media coordinators and classroom teachers.
I am Vanessa Lail, SLMC at Grandview Middle School in Hickory. Prior to becoming an SLMC I taught middle school language arts and science. I am excited to collaborate with other SLMCs and also look forward to collaborating with middle school teachers for cross-curricular connections in the future.
Hi,
I am Joseph Hayes. I have taugh 9-12 Social Studies, worked as a Instructional Technology Facilitator, and as a Media Specialists. My current role is Digital Literacy Coacy.
I would like to collaborate with other Media Specialists to build resources to help teachers and students in their classrooms.
Amanda Vernon, Media specialist and AIG teacher, National Board Certified Media Specialist
I would like to be able to collaborate with other media specialist.
I'm Natalie Shearin. I'm the Digital Literacy Coach (Media Coordinator) at Carver Elementary in Edgecombe County. This is my 5th year in the media center (2nd year at Carver). I've taught 4th and 5th before moving to the media center in 2014.
I have a flex schedule on Week A and a fixed schedule on Week B. I've tried to collaborate with teachers, but every time I think I have a chance it feels like...they are in other meetings or I'm wearing that one more hat that takes me away from them.
I hope to collaborate with other media coordinators across the state to get ideas of PBL activities and collaboration ideas that I can use in my school with my teachers and students.
This is my 12th year with Brogden Middle School. Before coming to Wayne County Schools, I previously taught for twelve years as teacher/librarian at Wayne Christian School. I am an ECU graduate, Master's Degree in Library Science, with a Bachelor in Business Administration from N.C. Wesleyan College and an Associate in Business Administration from Wayne Community College.
I have the exciting opportunity to make a difference in students’ lives. As an academic librarian, I am responsible for linking students to information using the best and most appropriate tools available. I do this by remaining current about information and technology trends and developments, keeping communication lines open, building and maintaining formal and informal connections, pursuing opportunities for professional growth, conducting research and assessment, and advocating for accessibility in all information environments.
Specialties: I am involved in my local community outside the library by being acquainted with my collection and sharing that knowledge. I attend continuing education classes, conferences, workshops and an active participant in professional associations. I am very zealous about my librarianship in view of the fact that gratification comes with endless opportunities to learn new things, to teach others through networking /collaborating.
I have been in the library world for the past 7 years, serving elementary and middle school students, as well as college students in an academic library. This year I ventured back into the math classroom (where I initially started my career in education), and, man, I am missing the library ALREADY! I LOVE it! I hope to be able to incorporate these new resources into my current curriculum, as well as share the resources with my colleagues on ways they can incorporate the resources into their respective curricula.
If I could collaborate more with a specific set of educators, particularly via this platform, I would definitely work with our ELA team. I vote them most likely (in the school setting) to "get" us among all of our colleagues. They understand the necessity of citing sources and about copyright. They would be most thrilled to receive these resources and collaborate on some projects with these projects. Because of their willingness to embrace collaborative opportunities in my role as SLMC, I'd bring this to my middle and high school ELA folks so we can be excited together!
My name is Jill Coleman, and I am an elementary Media Specialist. I serve a school of 460 students PreK through fifth grade. I would like to work closely with those in the tech field in order to become more tech savvy and to broaden my experiences. Working with other media personnel and ELA educators would also be great as this is my field.
Hello! My name is Wendy Moorehead, I am in my 6th year as a Media Coordinatoe, currently serving in a high school. I have 4 years as an elementary Media Coordinator prior to this. I also taught at the elementary level for 10 years.
I would love to use this platform to collaborate with other school librarians. We are usually the only one of our kind on a school campus, so being able to share ideas with other library professionals is such a valuable experience.
Hi,
My name is Sharon Hart, I am a veteran library media specialist. Although my expertise if fluid, I would say one of my major strengths is technology. Currently I server a K-5 population at a title 1 school, I am also the technology contact.
I would like to be able to collaborate more with classroom teachers in all subject areas. I would also like to make connections to music, visual arts and ELL teachers.
Hi,
Pamela Phelps from Cumberland County, I work for It & Media services as the Instructional Resource Coordinator for the county. Prior LMS for 15 years and CTE teacher.
My name is Jessyca Morgan and I am currently a K-2 school librarian. I am a former high school Civis & Econ/American Indian Studies teacher. I taught for 12 years and have been a librarian for 3 years. I would love to collaborate with other school librarians that are using STEAM in their media centers.
Hi, My name is Amanda Vernon, I am the media specialist and AIG teacher for an elementary school.
I would love to collaborate more with media specialists. We are the lone wolf in our buidlings. It is always nice to see and hear what others are doing. Sometimes I feel like I am twisting in the wind, not sure where I should go next with a lesson or unit. It would be nice to bounce those ideas off other media specialists.
