Usability: Strong (2)
this resource could be made more user friendly for students by including a link to a video of the text.
As a literacy facilitator, I appreciate teaching students this age both the term alliteration and the practice it provides with identifying first sounds. Full alignment to depth and breadth of standard RL.1.c and partial alignment of standards RF.1.3 c. Has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource. The alliteration activity provides student engagement that promotes the 4 Cs. Vocabulary and concepts presented are appropriate for the target audience. No assessment strategies have been indicated in the resource, so users should plan to add some type of assessment. The activity could be strengthened by providing structure for the discussion of the RL,1 questions...maybe question cards and student groupings or written prompts.
