Students will demonstrate their understanding of Coulomb's law and the way it governs the interaction between charged particles, by effectively describing these ideas using words and sketches.
Students demonstrate their understanding of electric fields by effectively and accurately describing what an electric field is using words and sketches.
Students will investigate circuits and how Ohm's Law can be used to predict current, voltage, and resistance.
Students will investigate parallel and series circuits and be able to determine total resistance, initial current and voltage.
Students will define variables in crucial equations P=IV and E=PT. They will also utilize physical models to determine energy consumption in everyday appliances and the school itself. Students will then take what they have learned and explain ways in which to become more "energy conscious" in their own lives.
