A basic student led info search to use as an introduction to The Crucible.
After reading The Crucible and discussing the impact hysteria can have on a community, students will research one local example (isolated in North Carolina, one national example (isolated in the United States) , and one global example (isolated in a country other than the United States) of mass hysteria.
In this project-based learning activity, students complete a webquest activity introducing them to The Crucible and the Salem Witch Trials. Students complete a poster presentation on the Salem Witch Trials, comparing it to the Communist Scare of the 1950s.
