Student Teacher

Description

Overview:
This is a multi-day unit on Cinderella and the many versions of the fairy tale. Students will listen to four versions of Cinderella and then compare/contrast two. Then students will design a background, decorate a puppet and use a script to create a green screen video summarizing one of the versions shared. There is also a rubric and assessment component.

NC.ELA.RL.2.2: Limited (1)

It is aligned with the standards but for second grade level I would adapt and differentiate a little more

I would design graphic organizers to evaluate:
Comprehension, writing and team work or peer work

Partial alignment by covering only analysis of a work of text. A great resource, but should be part of a unit.

No evidence of learning objective.

No evidence of assessment.

Strengths: This is an excellent resource that could be used for struggling readers or review of a text. The video It should not replace reading and personal analysis, but can offer a guide.

Opportunities: Pieces of this video could be used to help students connect or predict the text.

Resources: Most be aligned by the students better to understand the story and b differentiated by the grade level and the graphic organizers must be adapted for the students reading level

Thank you so much for your feedback! We created this so long ago and I know it would look completely different if I created it from scratch today. I have made some of the changes you suggested. There is still work to be done. Thanks again!
