If you brought in information about how building a strong house to protect the pigs is similar to how strong passwords protect your information on the computer this lesson could be tied to k2.NI.02 computer science standard.
I am an NC Pre-K teacher and I really appreciated how well this lesson was organized. Including details like photos if the activity and a video was very helpful for teachers planning to implement this activity. This resource is partially aligned with standard NCES.K.P.2.1, but does not align with NC.ELA.RL.K.2. It would need to have specific activities using the homes created by the students used for story re-telling to be aligned. An activity where a recorder or video taken of children re-telling the story could be added to bring it into alignment. It also needs to provide a method of weight measuring to be fully aligned. This resource has strong levels of engagement for students and can be adapted for all children in the classroom.
