NC.ELA.RL.6.6: Strong (2)

In this resource, students are using a graphic organizer to document the author's point of view. While the students do have to state the point of view and provide evidence, there could be more provided to guide the learner to identify certain elements to clarify the author's point of view. Because that is not present, this might not completely cover the standard, but does cover most of it.

Engagement: Strong (2)

The students will likely be engaged in critical thinking with this task. It is mostly appropriate for the age and ability of the targeted learner, although for middle school students, more should be added to the graphic organizer for certain elements that can distinguish a point of view.

Purpose: Limited (1)

The technology features would just provide a way for students to complete a graphic organizer using an online format. The features are not directly relevant to the subject and more supports would be needed for students to demonstrate understanding.
