NCES.3.L.2.1: Strong (2)

I am an Elementary Education Educator and I appreciated the lesson plan that was provided for this standard. The lesson plan went into enough detail for a substitute to be given the plan and be able to use it without guidance. I found that this resource was fully aligned to standard 3.L.2.1 however it is only partially aligned to the overlapping standard 3.L.2. This lesson plan and flip book directly align with the standard because it has scholars learn and understand both the parts of a flower and each function. I do wish that there was a type of formative assessment as a follow up.

The product of the resource is a flip book with the parts of a plant and its functions. She gives the teacher free range of media to use for scholars to receive the new knowledge whether it be via book or a video. If a teacher wanted to extend the discussion piece to promote more communication and critical thinking it is also possible.

For the target audience this resource is appropriate. Author provided an editable flip book for scholars to record new information in. The other flip book provided already has the information and correct terminology printed for those scholars who have difficulty copying words from a projector.
