Students will view a brief video about a singular cultural event that occurred in a decade, in this case the 1990s, in the United States and annotate the event for the who, what, where, when of the event and the impact of the event in 2019.  Each day has a specific video that the students will view, and they will submit the completed packet on the last class of the week.

Students will create different concentrations of sweet tea and vote on which tastes best. The concepts of dilution, molarity and converting from grams to moles will be reviewed.

Literature circles are a way to engage students in reading by selecting texts to read and discuss with peers. Instead of traditional literature circle roles, use question stems as a way to spark discussion. These question stems build in the complexity of thinking required. Reflection questions are included for debriefing after the small group discussion.

Math 1 Statistics Project to assess students' knowledge of basic statistical information, and how to analyze their data. Students will be asking 20 students (or more if so desired by teacher) a question of their choice from a provided list. Students will then use their data to find mean, median, mode, range, and outliers; create a histogram and a box and whisker plot; and analyze their data by answering reflection questions. This project can bse used as a final test grade for a Math 1 statistics unit.

Students will put 9 words randomly in the 3x3 grid.

Challenge: Make a sentence using each word in row 1. Challenge students to make sentences for each row and column in the 3x3 grid.

Can be done collaboratively, or individual. Nice to mix it up!
