Engagement: Limited (1)

There are few examples of students being encouraged to collaborate. The resource does not yet build critical consciousness or value the identity of each student.

Accuracy: Limited (1)

This resource has not yet included multiple perspectives - including traditionally marginalized ones. The resource also portrays harmful stereotypes of a particular culture, race, ethnicity or gender.

I appreciate the interactive nature of the technology and the goals of the lesson. I can also appreciate that students are learning facts about the ocean at the same time they are learning about cause and effect. It would be helpful to include more accessibility options and I'd be thrilled to see Noah be an oceanographer who was a girl or was more representative of other races or cultures.

This resource would be a good for independent or group presentation. The standards are fully aligned with this resource. There are clear learning objectives. This integration of technology and literacy is well done. There isn't an assessment tool to accompany this resource.
