Our district is Surry County Schools.

Our district is planning to share #GoOpenNC with our Digital Learning Leaders (one from each school) in August/September during our DLL Model Workshop day, and those DLLs will share the resources with teachers in their school by December.

Yes!  I feel that this is a perfect timeline of events.  There could be training on the PD days on copyright and the OER to get them ready.

Todd Rackowitz 4 years, 11 months ago

Yes and the PLCs could form groups in GoOpenNC to keep the resources in a collection and rate the used resources.

1.  Wait for additional guidance from NC DPI regarding release timeline

2.  Begin to design training for digital learning competencies (online and face-to-face)

3.  Share access with district-level curriculum teams/leaders

Identifying key groups within the system (Administrators, Media Specialists and Lead Teachers) to be early adopters of OER.

Have administrators start incorporating it into teacher evaluation process - contributing to other districts and the state.

Media Specialists will create a hub to share resources.

Next Steps:

  • Allow time for proper preparation of GoOpenNC before sharing with other professionals - research and practice utilizing the platform during this period.
  • At our anuual Back-to-School conference, explain and educate others on GoOpenNC -what, how, why, when

Yadkin County Schools

  • What are the 1-3 next steps that your district/school is planning to take to engage with #GoOpenNC?

We are planning to meet with our District Tech Director and our District Curriculum Director and see what they feel is the best route in taking with this at this time.

  • Probably feel that it's best that elementary level to let the Instructional Coaches & Media Co-ordinator explain to the teachers what this.
  • At Middle School - let the Instructional Tech Facilitator, Instructional Coach & Media Co-ordinator
  • At High School - let the Media Co-ordinator

At this time we are not sure of what OER resources we would like to see added as this is such a new option for us.  We would like more input from out teachers at each level.
