Opportunities to Offer
Opportunity to offer new suggestions
Discuss what was good/bad about a strategy
Opportunities to Take From
Create groups for discussion/ideas
Great ideas! What if you added an additional collaboration with same content specific PLCs throughout the state? Do you think that would offer more suggestions/ideas?
I think you have a great idea to create groups for discussion/ideas. This is a wonderful opportunity for PLC's to collaborate across the district and the state. It could possibly bring PLC's on the "same page." I wonder if this could have some implications for transient students...maybe they can have some consistency in education.
I agree a PLC has alot to offer! this would be a great way to have resources and ideas shared in a digital format!
This PLC has a lot to offer! They could share their PLC protocol and how it works. They also can explain how they embed metacognition in their lessons (i.e. their classroom strategies).
Takeaways could include feedback from others regarding ways to track/keep up with updates. If everything is shared on this platform, everyone can work from the same space and share the thinking. In short, a common platform that allows people to reflect and share--as well as see the metrics--is ideal.
Looking at their strengths, the PLC can offer to #GoOpenNC the tools that they use for feedback within their meetings.
About their possible needs, they can take different strategies for the things that they are focusing on within their PLC groups.
I agree, Steven. This platform will provide PLCs with a place to find those different strategies.
They can post an assignment after the PLC has looked at work samples and improved the assignment based on the feedback of the PLC.
They can search for assignments that incorporate student reflection and offer comments based on their PLC knowledge.
They can offer resources to the go open platform. They can take away how the resources are ranked so that teachers understand which ones may be the most beneficial for them.
Franklin County Schools has a lot of talent! We have many lessons created by a team called the Curriculum Ambassadors that we can upload to GoOpenNC. Hopefully, we can get some great feedback. Iron sharpens iron!
Great point Valerie! I love your quote, "Iron sharpens Iron" I think more educators need to take on this view and this platform allows the talent from all across the state to upload and share their resources. I look forward to seeing what teachers from all over the state provide.
Use the platform as a digital archive of stratigies discussed in PLCs.
Using GoOpenNC within PLC's will offer a collaborative space for teachers to compare, keep and anyalze student work or discussions of the student work. In addition, it provides a space for teachers to work together. The opportunities as a result are using the discussion board and remixing the resources. Because teachers seem to struggle with a few of their needs, they can build a community by seeking out a group, creating a group or even joining a group to meet instructional needs.
