I feel that NCVPS Teachers would play a crucial role in sharing at Open- because their world in online and meeting the needs to their learners in a nontraditional way- online. They need to find a way to engage their learners in an online independent fashion.
Teacher who I feel would need extra support would be new teacher who are unfamiliar with their content area as well as Seasoned teachers “set in their ways.”
NCVPS teachers are virtual experts. They are used to reviewing and utilizing resources. They are also accustomed to participating in digital PLC. They can reach a wide audience quickly throught their professional communities.
I think traditional teachers who are already fearful of "another tool" will be the most difficult to reach. They have become acustomed to getting resources, then the resources go away. They may believe this is just another thing that won't stick around so why utilize it.
I think NCVPS teachers know A LOT about copyright, so I feel like NCVPS teachers could really take the lead here. Many teachers make resources and are already sharing them with their ELCs and now we could add them to this platform. I think it would be great for other teachers to see all the web tools that are out there!
I think that teachers that do not have someone in their school that is familar with the #GoOpenNC platform are going to need extra support. If there is someone that advocates and "trains" the teachers at the schools that will help.
I feel that NCVPS teachers could be a valuable resource as they are accustomed to reaching learners with technology in their courses.
In my experience with my own faculty, I feel that there are some subject areas that tend to not embrace technology resources as readily, because typically there have not been as many resources out there for them. Health/Physical Education is one of those areas, as well as some of the CTE courses. Also some of the more experienced faculty members tend to be less technologically motivated. They have a system that works and are hesitant to move away from that.
