About me

I do my best to provide my EL's with instruction which introduces them to content area topics and vocabulary addressed in the NC ELA and SS curriculum. I use quality children's literature in my instruction to build awareness of important and timely relevant cultural and societal concerns. This also aids them in building content vocabulary, reading comprehension, and written expression skills. This type of instruction builds their self-confidence to contribute in classroom discussions and ensures they develop empathy for others.
