*I really enjoyed seeing the sample of student work. It puts the standard into perspective when teachers collect artifacts. I feel that teachers learn best from seeing and watching. This is an excellent example of what the learner gained from the teaching.
*Full alignment to depth and breadth of standard 2.OA.3. Students are adding and subtracting even and odd numbers togethers. Students were taught different ways to approach and represent an equation. From the student sample I see multiple strategies on how to solve equations.
*A suggestion would be to use the inverse operation for students to double check their work.
*This resource of strategies has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource.
*The sample of work has clear and sufficient assessment strategies that will accurately measure student progress and mastery of the specified standard
* A suggestion would be for students to engage in a written response. It would be higher order thinking if students were to complete that work in a 2-3 sentence word problem and demonstrate a specific method when solving. The writing component allows students to take ownership and complete understanding of why they chose the strategy that they did. This application aspect is rigorous.
