I am a fifth grade teacher who works with EC inclusion students and I really appreciate the ability to remix this task for my students. * Full alignment to depth of breadth of standard NBT.7 and partial alignment to standard NBT.3. * Has clear learning objectives that are achievable through completion of this resource. * Has clear assessment strategies will accurately measure student progress and/or mastery of the standard NBT.7 but needs additional material for summative assessment of 5.NBT.3. * Strengths include the identified standard NBT.7 is completely addressed and are the sole focus of the resource. The activity is easily accessible by students of all levels. * Opportunity for growth would be to include checking for the grammatical error indicated in question #9.
*I am an elementary math coach looking for a variety of CFA options to provide the fifth grade teachers at my school.
*Full alignment to depth and breadth of standard tagged.
*Has clear learning objectives that are assessed through this resource.
*Has clear and sufficient assessment strategies that will accurately measure progress and mastery of the specified standard. *This assessment provides a variety of questions that requires students to represent their thinking in different formats as well as to explain their thinking. It is purposefully designed for accessibility by all students.
*Question #9 is worded incorrectly. Please take a look at "Estimate how much more money did Mason make this month money lawns?" I would suggest changing it to, "Estimate how much more money Mason made this month mowing lawns." Technically it is not a question, but a command so there would be no question mark. Overall, I would recommend the use of this CFA to teachers.
As a fifth grade teacher, I appreciate this assessment. Word problems and formative assessments to have available is extremely important.
