Students will go through a multi level tutorial about the classroom vocabulary, then play a game using the newly learned vocabulary, and finally go through a test to check their mastery.
This is a simple classroom observation document that is meant to not be overwhelming for a beginning teacher.
It does require some pre-coaching on the part of an administrator and/or instructional support coach. It necessitates a conversation about specific areas of concern that the teacher doing the observation should look for and a careful selection of the teacher who will be observed to make sure that they are demonstrated desired behaviors in those areas.
It should also be followed up with a conversation about what the teacher observed and next steps to make 1-2 adjustments to their own teaching.
Sudents will learn the vocabulary associated with clothing as well as the most common Spanish words used for fashion accessories, grooming articles, and footwear. Note that many of the words can vary with region, and some of the words can have other meanings in other contexts.
Students will understand the subtleties and stylistic features of texts on unfamiliar topics. Additionally, students will learn that Gustavo Adolfo Becquer, was a Spanish poet and writer best known for his Rhymes and Legends. Also, students will analyze the poem and will learn that in Rhyme II, the poet talks about the anguish he feels concerning the uncertainty of the future and in the years that he has left to live.
Students will learn how to form positive and negative familiar commands. They will also learn to form irregular affirmative and negative commands.
Students will learn about the general political discourse, assembly, expertise, and prime minister travels.
Students will learn about French law initiatives, the parliament, the constitution, and the role of various ministers.
Students will access a selection of 100 words that frequently lead to mistakes in writing or use due to their similarity in pronunciation. Common mistakes for each of the words are pointed out and the correct usage explained thus helping the students to improve their Spanish by better understanding the subtleties and stylistic features of texts in the target language.
This actvity allows students to demonstrate reading comprension of personal information vocabulary in Spanish. The activity provides a written paragraph in Spanish and 10 reading comprehension questions in English.
In this activity, students work in small groups to develop their ability to coordinate ideas using connecting words such as ademas, and por lo tanto while creating more complex sentences.
Students will learn or test their knowledge of continents and oceans with this drag and drop activity in French. Upon correct identification of each geographical feature, the name of the feature is pronounced by a native French speaker.
While using this object, students are introduced to new information about Costa Rica. It is reinforced with short facts and questions, and reviewed to strengthen their new knowledge of the concept. Students can access Kahoot from a computer or mobile device. As the teacher displays questions on the screen, students answer from their devices, and are given instant feedback. Percentages of each answer chosen are then displayed on the screen. As a bonus, students can later play in "Ghost Mode" to review the material and beat their score.
