This is a research activity or research project that connects our students to past historical figures. Students will evaluate the motives, ideas, and effects of their influencer's choices and actions through a historical thinker lens. Higher level thinking, open ended questions will help guide students to understanding how an individual can influence society and ultimately, a revolution.Students will use a cell phone template to create a social media "post" describing their influencer's impact in the American Revolution.

A Memorial For An Ancient Ruler: Meet Ramses II

In this cross-curricular lesson, students use Percy Shelley's poem, Ozymandias, as a jumping off point to learn about Ramses II, the Egyptian pharoah about whom the poem was written. Students read and analyze the poem and get some background information on the ruler before diving into research about his life and times.

Students will need to cite their sources and justify the design (structure) of their infographic. This remix removes content-specific information so it can be used with a variety of grades and content areas. It also includes tech and literacy integration. Collaboration with the School Library Media Coordinator (SLMC) is highly encouraged.
