Students will learn to recognize how being assertive can help in expressing feelings
to speak assertively
how being assertive can help manage conflict.
Students will learn to recognize positive qualities about ourselves
how positive talk affects how we feel
to turn a negative statement into a positive one.
Students will learn there are a range of coping strategies that can be helpful
to understand that everyone experiences difficult times and feelings
resilience is about working through challenging times.
Students will learn to recognize there may be stigma and anxiety attached to asking for help.
Students will learn that everyone has different ways of coping with exam stress
that some coping strategies are more helpful than others.
Students will learn to recognize different changes that may happen in our lives
consider how we cope with change.
Students will learn to understand that pressures can impact on our thoughts and feelings
to understand that we have a choice as to how we react to feelings.
Students will learn how talking about feelings can help.
Students will learn to recognize when feelings become difficult to cope with
what you can do to help yourself and others.
Students will learn the difference between physical and emotional health.
Students will learn some facts about self-harming behavior and how to recognize that behavior.
In this session we will learn:

to consider that everyone is different and reacts differently to situations
Students will learn that it can be difficult to talk about problems, but there is support and help.
In this session we will learn:
it can be difficult to tell someone your problems
who you can go to for support
how talking can help.
We recommend you use this session in conjunction with ‘My support network’ session.

how we recognize emotional health in ourselves and others.
Students will learn that emotional health can and does vary over time,
that everyone is different and feelings are normal.
Students will learn to ask for support and recognize when others need support for depression.
