    Overview

    Students will: Identify and classify names for the fruits in Spanish in the regional and global communities. Students will: Learn the names and how to order fruits in a local market and as well in some countries of Latin-American. This lesson was developed by Freddy Rivera as part of their completion of the North Carolina Global Educator Digital Badge program. This lesson plan has been vetted at the local and state level for standards alignment, Global Education focus, and content accuracy.

    Description

    Students will: Identify and classify names for the fruits in Spanish in the regional and global communities. Students will: Learn the names and how to order fruits in a local market and as well in some countries of Latin-American.


    Content

    Learning Targets and Criteria for Success

    1. Identify and classify names for the fruits in Spanish in the regional and global communities.
    2. Learn how to order fruits in a local market and as well in some countries of Latin-American.
    3. Learn how to order fruits and classify their names.
    4. Use of memorized words and phrases to exchange information about the classroom and school environment.
    5. Understanding the meaning of memorized words and phrases used in the community.
    6. Compare behaviors, such as gestures and greetings, in the target culture and the student’s culture.

    Learning Tasks and Practice

    Lesson will have to present the students a daily warm-up activity, Vocabulary Presentation, Video and an Oral Check-up activity. As well, a grammar section, Quizlet activities, QUIA activities, Games, Quizzes, Tests, and Presentations: formal and skits to the Teacher and the Classroom.  Students will respond if they have a previous knowledge of any fruits in Spanish.  They will share with all.  Then, I will present new vocabulary and show details for these items through a video online.  I will present new vocabulary 2-3 times for correct pronunciation.  Students will repeat 1 or 2 times each new word. 


    Collecting and Documenting Evidence of Learning

    Students will complete Vocabulary lists, Quizzes, Oral Quizzes, Tests, Skits, and Projects to present in class.
