Students will program robots through a given maze that they create using Alphabet or number flashcards. You will need to purchase either BEEBOT robots or CODIE AND GO MOUSE ROBOTS to complete this activity.

Students will design a fun and safe roller coaster with at least one loop. Students start by simulating a coaster with Amusement Park Physics. Here they learn about giving their coaster the maximum energy needed to complete the course. Their coaster design is rated for safety and fun. After simulating a coaster and understanding how to design a safe and fun coaster, students use the design process to create a prototype coaster for an amusement park.

Selfie Stickers is an online tool or app where students can modify their favorite photos. They will have fun using the stickers to make hilarious creations by adding them to their selfies. This is a good website to begin talking about altering photos and pictures online.

Google Drive is a web based application that incorporates a system of file sharing. Word processing documents, spreadsheets, and slideshow presentations can be shared and edited with users whether they have a Google account or not. Document owners set the level of access for regulating permission for others to view, comment and/ or edit documents that are shared.

Teach students why they should NEVER share personal information on the computer, including passwords

Wordsift is a free online tool where teachers and/or students copy text and put relevant vocabulary words into a word cloud. Unlike WORDLE OR TAGXEDO, where ALL the words are put into a cloud, Wordsift “sifts” through the text and looks at more important academic vocabulary and creates word clouds with the key vocabulary. It can also highlight words for various content areas.

Students work to solve an interactive Rube Goldberg project using strategic trial and error processes. They begin at level one and increase levels as they become successful on the free website engineering.com

Problems get solved when people work together. Students will choose a problem or issue from their local community that needs a solution. They will create a Google Form that will be used to gather community opinions and perceptions to help create a solution to a local issue. Using a QR code, students will create posters with links to their Google Form and post them around the community. Once enough forms have been filled out students will use the data to create a presentation of the issue.

Squishy Circuits are fun for all ages! Use conductive dough and insulating dough to teach the basics of electrical circuits in a fun, hands-on way. Students can create a circuit which will Illuminate LED lights, make a motor spin, or a buzzer sound. Power is supplied by a 4AA battery pack and travels through the conductive dough to provide power to LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), buzzers, or motors.

Students need to learn how to stay safe on the Internet. They need to learn how to recognize inappropriate materials, not talk to strangers and let a grown-up know if they encounter anything that appears to be wrong.

In this activity, students will learn the basics of stop motion animation so they can use this technique to display their learning in a variety of subject areas.

Your students will love stop motion animation for moviemaking. There is a free app for both Andoid and iOS that your students can use, but there are in-app purchases that may be necessary for any extra features needed for a professional looking product. The students will get their feet wet with the free version though.

Students need to learn early on how important it is to create orginal work. Luckily there are digital tools to help students ensure that when they are doing their research that they are not copying the work of others.

Students will use the free site Into the Book to learn and practice strategies that will allow them to dig deeper into various reading concepts to gain a stronger understanding of text.
