This article describes the multi-camera instrument (Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer or MISR) aboard the Terra Satellite; participants use information from the article to complete a crossword puzzle. A supplemental article entitled, "Clouds and Earth" is included. The article is targeted to children ages 10-12.

Squishy Circuits are fun for all ages! Use conductive dough and insulating dough to teach the basics of electrical circuits in a fun, hands-on way. Students can create a circuit which will Illuminate LED lights, make a motor spin, or a buzzer sound. Power is supplied by a 4AA battery pack and travels through the conductive dough to provide power to LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes), buzzers, or motors.

States of Matter is an educational activity for kids to learn about the different properties of matter. The lesson will introduce solids, liquids, and gases. Students will then be assessed through a sorting activity where they will classify different objects. It's a solid activity!

There is a free app for both Andoid and iOS that your students can use, but there are in-app purchases that may be necessary for any extra features needed for a professional looking product. The students will get their feet wet with the free version though.

Students need to learn early on how important it is to create orginal work. Luckily there are digital tools to help students ensure that when they are doing their research that they are not copying the work of others.

Students will use the free site Into the Book to learn and practice strategies that will allow them to dig deeper into various reading concepts to gain a stronger understanding of text.

StoryBots Classroom is a resource for educators that includes unlimited access to hundreds of videos, books, games and activities for use on interactive whiteboards, tablets and laptops in the classroom.

Children love to tell stories. They will make up something that happened to them just to be able to tell a story. In this lesson students will take a story they have written and publish it using Google Slides or PowerPoint. They will be able to insert pictures and speech bubbles to make their story come to life for their audience.

Do the egg drop challenge with Strawbees! Have the students be innovative designers and construct a model for the egg with the Strawbees so when it is dropped, it will not break. The students are learning about force and gravity. Using technology they can gather information to look at how they can develop the best model.

Students will follow a design process to create a video tutorial by recording the screen. Screencasting is a great way to capture the screen of your computer to create how-to videos.

Students are presented with a scenario surrounding a relevant contemporary public issue on which they can take a stand. Students will work together to create a survey that will then be shared with various groups, in order to analyze the ways in which certain groups perceive a given issue.
