Students who use the computer need to realize that no matter how old they are, they are leaving digital footprints behind. Unlike footprints in the sand, it is very difficult to delete digital footprints. So if your kindergarten students are using the computer at school or at home, they need to learn what a digital footprint is.

In this activity, students will read a piece that is uploaded to SeeSaw by the teacher. The teacher may want to have students use the piece again in the year to measure growth.

Here are the outcomes you will accomplish from completing this course.

Students will sort Fuzz Bugs by color into matching containers creating a bar graph. Questions are then asked requiring students to interpret the graph and enter in answers. Questions are read aloud for nonreaders.

Students will complete research about an animal of their choice using the San Diego Zoo Kids Zoo website. The students will create a SlideShow Presentation to share with the class teaching about their animal. The class will use given “clues” based on research to guess the student's animal.

Students will use Google Slides to play a Guess Who game. The teacher will share one Google Slide presentation to all students. Each student will create one slide, and type two sentences describing themselves on that slide. Students will then be given a slide number randomly, they will have to guess who that person is.

An engaging way for students to learn about and make comparisons in history is to create remixes using photos and paintings from that time in history. Using the Library of Congress archives and Google images in the public domain, students can download the images and remix them using iPiccy to communicate about that time in history.

Students brainstorm a list of bucket fillers together to inspire acts of kindness locally and globally

Students will design a survey to explore their classmates' feelings and experiences with bullying. Once the class has participated in the survey, they will analyze the data, discussing implications and how they can improve/build classroom community.

Flipgrid is a fantastic FREE Tool where students can create a video presence to support collaboration and their learning. Students will use FlipGrid to share information on any given topic of your choice. It is a platform where they can communicate ideas and eventually collaborate with others.

An infographic is a visual presentation of information in the form of a chart, graph, or other images accompanied by minimal text, intended to give an easily understood overview of a subject. They are very popular and frequently found on websites, newsprint, magazines, etc. Students may create infographics to share out research on any variety of topics, statistics generated from surveys, or a host of other options that cross the various content areas.

InsertLearning is a Chrome extension that turns websites into interactive lessons. As long as students have a Google login and password, Chromebook or Chrome extension on a computer, they can login or be assigned an assignment by the teacher through Google Classroom. The website text can be highlighted and sticky notes, videos, questions and discussions inserted to create a very interactive lesson between student and teacher.

Nearpod is an online site where a teacher can create and import interactive lessons along with online assessments, polls, virtual field trips, etc. Teachers share a live session, students enter a code, and the lesson is synced to all devices. Teachers will increase student engagement by learning how to use Nearpod.
