A new instructional model, called Argument-Driven Inquiry (ADI), is introduced to elementary teachers in this article. The Community Walk is to get students using their knowledge and research to explore their surrounding community.  Sometimes this can mean unearthing previously contested monuments or in interviews with community members find out connections that might exist they previously were unaware of.  This activity allows students to practice speaking and listening skills and gets them using technology as a means of communication.
