Students will collaborate with a group of students and select a Culture Project to complete together in school. The group will choose, design and plan and implement what the groups roles will be and what materials are needed to complete the project. The teacher should allow the students to work on projects in school so that equal participation is taking place and can be observed. The students may select the countries in the folktale unit to research or one of their own as long as the project goals are met and agreed upon by all members in the group. This lesson was developed by Lisa Bruet as part of their completion of the North Carolina Global Educator Digital Badge program. This lesson plan has been vetted at the local and state level for standards alignment, Global Education focus, and content accuracy.
This is from Tools 4 NC Teachers. It is intended to be used in Cluster 1 or Cluster 4 of Grade 3.
This lesson details how to facilitate a number talk. The target is 3rd grade students with addition, but this could also be used in 4th grade or at the end of 2nd grade. This task is remixable to provide more supports for various learners.
This lesson provides opportunities for students to solve multi-step problems and explain their problem solving strategies. This is remixable to provide additional supports for various learners.
This lesson describes how to facilitate a number talk for subtraction. The target is 3rd grade students, but this could be adapted and used in 4th grade or at the end of the year in 2nd grade. This is remixable to provide more supports for various learners.
This lesson provides opportunities for students to examine what it means to subtract. Students solve tasks and write arguments and mathematical claims about how subtraction works.
This resource provides materials and ideas for a multiplication mathematics family night for Third Grade families. This is remixable.
This additional resource has sample anchor charts aligned to Grade 3 Cluster 4. This is not remixable.
This additional resource is a Common Formative Assessment (CFA) for Grade 3 Cluster 4. This is not remixable but items here can be used as an examples to make your own CFA.
