Identify cell organelles, explain how the structure of an organelle determines its function, and summarize how organelles work together to carry out the functions of the cell.

In this activity, students will work in collaborative groups to create 9M x 9M models of plant and animal cells. Class population can be split into 2 or 4 groups, with half the students constructing animal cells and the other half constructing plant cells. Students must organize and assign duties, provide materials for this activity, and write a written report. They will also give "Cell Tours" to other students and/or classroom guests.

Organization of Living Things: Cells Functions, Growth and Development- Students will learn how cells function, grow and develop.

In this investigation, students will observe cells from various sources of their choice. Plant, animal and bacterial cells will be observed as well as cells from multicellular organisms and single celled organisms. Students will be expected to provide written descriptions as well as detailed drawings of the cells they observed. Students will be asked to compare and contrast the cells they observed and provide a technique they would use to categorize the cells they observed.
