The class won a good behavior contest and the reward is a bowling party.  The day of the party it is raining and the students are unable to visit the bowling alley. So the students build their own bowling alley using the WeDo robot kit.  Then they have a bowling competition to see who bowls the highest score.

Find examples of whole number prices in ads in the newspaper or on the internet. Give students a target of $100 to spend. See who can get the closest by choosing 3 or 4 items. Once students have picked a set of numbers to add, ask them to tell how they added the numbers. This lesson was developed by NCDPI as part of the Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted Instructional Resources Project.
