The lesson teaches students about the kinds of knives, how to sharpen and store them, how to use them safely, and how to practice knife skills. It ends with a lab that allows students to demonstrate the knife skills they've learned.

This virtual manipulative will help the students to develop some familiarity with the currency, both coins and bills. Three different features of the manipulative will provide practice to the students: Make a dollar gives students practice in the equivalence of different sets of coins; How much money asks the student to total the value of the displayed bills and coins; Pay exact amount could be used to model either payment or giving change.

Students will learn how water moves
through a watershed, the pollutants that can enter the water system from different land use activities and ways people can prevent water pollution.

Students will evaluate the quality of a "water sample" (a bag of Skittles), graph their results, and form a hypothesis about the land use near the
location their sample was collected.
