It is a math lesson integrated computer science. It is designed as a project based learning lesson, and started with a real-life scenario. It requires students to solve a real-life situation with integrated subjects. The topic of the lesson is WCPSS G3 Unit 5 Reasoning with shapes. It asks students to identify different types of quadrilaterals including rhombus, rectangles, squares, parallelograms and talk about their attributes. As the same time, students will model how computer hardware and software work together as a system to accomplish tasks and conduct a program using Scratch including sequence and simple loop.

Students will use images to depict how humans have physically changed our US environment from the past to present.

Within this lesson students will pretend to go through the water cycle and then create a story of what it was like from their point of view. They will share their version of events with their classmates through a vlog format.

In this lesson, 4th grade students will extend their understanding of the five food groups and bar graphs to create and answer questions about the data presented in the graph by creating a Makey Makey project.
