For this lesson, students use visual models to add and subtract two fractions with the same units including subtracting from one whole.
This is a short skill check on adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers. Students will solve world problems and are encouraged to solve using pictures, models, or the standard algorithm. I tried to include a few problems that require regrouping which can be a struggle for many fifth graders.
