In this lesson, students compare efficiency of counting on and making ten when one addend is 8.
This course features a video review and an interactive assessment activity for selecting the correct addition sequence. It is aimed at first graders.
This activity was based upon the book James and the Giant Peach, however, it is not necessary to read the book to complete the adventure. The slides are comprised of review skills for first grade students in reading and math. Audio clips were from bensound and mixit. All images were obtained through google images. Go on an adventure with James and the Giant Peach. Complete each task by solving the problems and clicking on the links to find James' happy ending.
For this assessment, students must decide if there is more than one way to add up numbers.
