This 2nd Grade Math Intermediate Learning Plan is used with Standard NC.2. OA.2. Students will learn, practice, and show evidence of learning Fact Families.This resource was developed as part of a professional learning opportunity funded by the NCDPI Digital Learning Initiative Planning Grant. 

This parent guide supports parents in helping their child at home with the 2nd Grade Math content. Within the folder you will access Parent Guide PDFs in FIVE Languages: Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish, and Vietnamese to help on-going communication with caregivers. 

This game will give students an opportunity
to review two-digit addition.

Students will either work with a partner or indpendently to go to different desks where a new math problem will be solved. They will record answers on the provided answer sheet, or can just number their paper in a notebook and write problems and answers by the correct number.

This intermediate learning plan is used with Standard NC. 2. OA. 1. Students will learn, practice and show evidence of learning how to solve one-step word problems.

Students will build a way to transport their (region-specific) goods.Build a cart with limited supplies. This can be utilized with or without robots for pulling.

Place Value Password Protect:
Students will use place value to create a secret password that other students will try to figure out or hack their password.

In this lesson, students describe three-dimensional figures built from cubes by looking at horizontal slicing planes.

In this unit, students develop in-depth understanding of volume and surface area. Students should understand volume as a measure of filling and surface area as a measure of wrapping an object. Students should have the opportunity to generate their own strategies for finding volume and surface area. Students will be able to use patterns and rules/formulas for finding surface area and volume of three-dimensional shapes.

This resource is a worksheet for the standard 3.MD.1.  It can be used as an exit ticket or as an independent practice. This could be used with a tech tool where students can draw directly on the document (Nearpod, Peardeck, Seesaw, Etc.)
