This is a student-facing handout that helps students practice the 7 characteristics of life. It was designed to provide support practicing the vocabulary words and helping students reflect on their own identity as they practice the words. It is an Emerging CRT resource that I created in collaboration with Erin McRae-Berry.

This is a remix of an existing resource - https://goopennc.oercommons.org/courses/lab-activity-report-human-traits-punnett-squares. It was created by New York Science Teacher. I remixed it because there were inaccuracies about the original content (eye color is not simple dominant/recessive) and there was family-based bias in the original resource.  I made changes to focus on PTC tasting, because it is much closer to being simple dominant/recessive. The remixed resource directly addresses that even PTC tasting is not fully dominant/recessive any more.

Many educators are using Remote Learning to educate their students. Educators are creating amazing, creative and meaningful instructional opportunities, but they need to be aware of copyright laws. The remix has added further details for students and also added a mention of Katherine Johnson and her contribution to space calculations. This student-facing handout has embedded links and a data table and is designed for a 1st grade math and science integration. 

REMIX - My remix is intended to increase accessibility by focusing on adding headers for screenreader.

This task is from Tools 4 NC Teachers. Students create a bar graph based on data. There are samples of student work to help teachers assess and also to help anticipate student responses. This is remixable.
