In this lesson students will decorate the outside of a small box, using words and pictures to depict how they see themselves and decorate the inside to show how others see them. Students then present an oral presentation explaining the box's decorations.
Four to five person teams will research and present an in-depth TV news special about the Holocaust for the Passover Sedar holiday. Students will conduct research and assume a specific task of their news team to present a main story in a newscast/Podcast.

Examples in this lesson focus on The Beast by Walter Dean Myers, but any piece of literature can be used as the basis of students' soundtracks.

This poetry lesson uses "Manatee/Humanity" to help students develop skills of noticing (seeing, hearing, and feeling) in relationship to poetry.
Students can practice their speaking skills in a lower stakes situtation. Additionally, they are exposed to another skill for their technology toolbox. For this lesson students examine the differences between physical and chemical changes. After understanding these changes, in small groups students follow instructions for making popcorn, photographing each step. Then students create a video using the SonicPics app to narrate their photos and answer questions about this change.

In this lesson, students create a multimedia PowerPoint presentation about proper telephone procedures.
Students will learn about Roman architecture, technology, and medicine by becoming teachers for a day. Students will participate in a class discussion about Rome?s contributions in these areas and then work in small groups to become experts in one aspect of Roman technology or medicine. They will then share this knowledge with their classmates by teaching what they have learned and having their classmates participate in an activity where they will have to apply what they have learned.
