After reading their Wonders anchor text, “Camping with the President”, students will be asked to choose a national park from those provided to research. Students will create a presentation of their choice (i.e Google slide, Jamboard, Flipgrid, Prezi) with visuals and informational facts. The goal of the students’ presentation is to persuade others to visit their national park.

These lessons address science, math, and ELA standards. We have a Tower Garden and these lessons focus on parts of plants, plant needs for growth, and comparing differences between plants growing in soil and an Aeroponic gardening system. Students will monitor and graph growth.

Each team has a budget of $45 to spend to modify a cup into the ultimate predator.  After predators are constructed, students battle to pop each others’ balloons.  Whichever predator is able to survive is the ultimate predator. 

This is a hyperDoc that covers Ecosystems. It takes several days to complete this and has links to several different assignments. The hyperDoc follows the 5E Lesson plan format. There are several videos to watch, vocabulary, drag and drops, partner work, and a final group project. Because this is a digital resource, the students will need to have access to a device.

Teachers, you will also need to set up a Padlet and a Flipgrid prior to assigning this. Once you have them, you will need to link them on the appropriate slide. The second slide will remind you of this.
